Brief description
The project aims to promote digital storytelling for people with low digital literacy, who based on their experiences during the Coronavirus pandemic, will learn how to move into the virtual/web, engage in the arts, and express themselves creatively with the support of educators.
InEuropa srl is a project partner.
Objectives
- To support people with low digital competence and who have never received adequate digital literacy;
- To promote creative expression and cultural education;
- To develop skills and inclusion through creativity and the arts;
- Professionalising educators and other staff for adults’ support and learning;
- To develop tools to help people cope with the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Actions
The main activities of the project consist of:
- Drafting of a document collecting existing methodologies, examples of good practice and methods for digital storytelling and examining what preconditions exist for such application in the field of e-learning, thinking of people with low digital literacy;
- Multimedia tutorial on culture and art, with which adult educators will learn how art in various forms is suitable for biographical work geared towards adult education, especially in special situations such as the current pandemic;
- Drafting of a practical guide for adult educators to improve their methodological competence and thus contribute to their professionalization regarding digital storytelling as a virtual offer for people with low digital literacy;
- Explanatory documentation of how digital storytelling videos can be created together with people with low digital competence: A booklet that explicitly addresses adult educators and is designed to motivate them to use this method and to clearly explain how it can be implemented;
- Creation of storytelling videos about art and one’s experience with the Coronavirus with a selected group of people with poor digital skills;
- Multimedia tutorial on how to organize a virtual storytelling café, and running of 2 events for the project.
Results
The main expected results are:
- Improvement of the digital skills of people who are and have been excluded from communicative, social and cultural activities due to their lack of digital literacy;
- Increased professionalization of adult educators in methodological and technical terms in the use of digital storytelling within the training offer for people with low digital literacy;
- Use of an innovative methodology combining art and digital storytelling as a response to the crisis generated by the Coronavirus. Partners should continue to use the method in the future, especially those already engaged in the practice of storytelling, digital or cultural education. Furthermore, adult educators will be able to use the products for training and applying the method in addition to what they already offer in their training courses.
